Shrimp Toast

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 slices bread
  • 8 ounces cooked peeled shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
  • oil, for frying

Recipe

  • 1 remove crusts from the bread.
  • 2 using a food processor, blend shrimp, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil and egg until a smooth paste has formed.
  • 3 spread paste evenly on top of bread.
  • 4 sprinkle bread with sesame seeds and press them into spread.
  • 5 cut bread from corner to corner twice, to form small triangles.
  • 6 heat oil in wok and fry toasts, sesame side up, for 4 to 5 min, until golden. warning: watch them carefully. they may take considerably less than 4 min to become golden.
  • 7 drain toasts thoroughly.
  • 8 serve with sweet and sour sauce.
  • 9 enjoy!
