Sesame Seed And Honey Sticks From Mali (meni-meniyong)

Ingredients

  • 100 g sesame seeds
  • 50 g margarine
  • 1 cup honey or 1 cup sugar

Recipe

  • 1 heat the sesame seeds in a shallow pan without any oil, until they begin to jump about and turn golden.
  • 2 shake the pan so that they do not stick or burn.
  • 3 allow to cool.
  • 4 using a heavy pan, heat the margarine and then add the honey.
  • 5 stir continuously until the mixture begins to caramelise.
