Sesame Seed Shortbread Cookies

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 drops anise oil (optional)
  • 3/4 cup toasted sesame seeds

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 375 .
  • 2 in a large bowl, sift the flour, sugar, and baking powder together.
  • 3 work in the shortening as you would when making pie dough, to the consistency of coarse meal.
