Sesame Shrimp Poppers

Total Time: 22 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 2 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour (about)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • sunflower oil (for frying)

Recipe

  • 1 season shrimp with salt and pepper.
  • 2 heat oil over fairly high heat.
  • 3 mix bread crumbs and sesame seeds in a shallow bowl.
  • 4 dredge in flour and shake off excess.
  • 5 dredge in egg, and then in bread crumb/sesame mixture.
  • 6 the shrimp can be made ahead up to this point and refrigerated until ready to fry.
  • 7 fry 2 minutes or until the poppers brown.
  • 8 drain on paper towels.
  • 9 serve with dipping sauces-sweet and sour, chutney, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, garlic mayo.
