Sage Cornmeal Sticks

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons liquid honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh sage
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 refrigerate ungreased baking sheets until chilled.
  • 2 in large bowl, beat butter with honey until fluffy; beat in eggs and milk.
  • 3 in separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, sage, baking powder, and salt.
  • 4 stir into butter mixture until smooth.
  • 5 using piping bag fitted with large star tip, pipe mixture into 3 inch long logs, about 1/2 inch apart, on prepared pans.
  • 6 bake in 350f oven until slightly darker on bottoms, about 15 minutes.
  • 7 reduce temperature to 300f; bake until crisp, about 15 minutes.
  • 8 transfer to racks; let cool.
