Grandma Jean Sourdough Waffles

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 cups dry milk
  • 4 -5 cups hot water
  • 4 eggs (separated)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil

Recipe

  • 1 mix first three ingredients (flour, dry milk, hot water) together well. then add sough dough starter. cover with kitchen towel and keep warm. let mixture sit overnight.
  • 2 in the morning, take out a cup of the waffle mix and store in a covered container in the refrigerator. (this is the starter for next time).
  • 3 then add:.
  • 4 4 eggs - put yokes in and fluff the whites to soft peaks, fold whites in very last, if you want fluffier waffles. you can throw the whole egg in if in a hurry.
  • 5 2 teaspoons salt.
  • 6 2 teaspoons baking soda.
  • 7 2 tablespoons sugar.
  • 8 ½ cup oil.
  • 9 mix well.
  • 10 ready to pour into hot waffle iron.
