S & W Cafeteria Egg Custard Pie

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 unbaked deep dish pie shell

Recipe

  • 1 combine sugar, butter and salt, add eggs and mix well on low speed of your mixer or with a whisk, beat in milk, nutmeg and vanilla until smooth.
  • 2 pour into unbaked pie crust.
  • 3 bake at 425 - 30- 40 minutes or until the edges are set and the middle is still jiggly.
  • 4 remove from oven and cool at room temperature.
