Oatmeal With Blueberries And Cream

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups blueberries

Recipe

  • 1 in a heavy saucepan over med-high heat, bring the milk and salt to a gentle boil, about 3 minutes.
  • 2 slowly stir in the oats.
  • 3 decrease the heat to medium and cook uncovered at a gentle boil, stirring frequently, until the oatmeal is soft and the milk is absorbed, about 5 minutes.
  • 4 adjust the heat as needed to keep the oatmeal boiling gently.
  • 5 remove from the heat, cover, and let stand for 3 minutes.
  • 6 after the oatmeal has rested, stir in the cream just until blended.
  • 7 using a large spoon, gently stir the blueberries into the hot oatmeal.
  • 8 divide among individual bowls and serve at once.
