Old Fashioned Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients

- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
Recipe
- 1 combine sugar, salt and milk in saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mixture almost boils.
- 2 reduce to low.
- 3 gradually stir about 1/2 cup of hot mil into the beaten eggs.
- 4 add eggs to remaining hot mixture.
- 5 cook over low heat, stirring constantly until slightly thickened, about 5 minute.
- 6 remove from heat and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
- 7 combine whipping cream, vanilla and chilled mixture, stirring with a wire whisk to combine.
- 8 pour into canister and churn.
