Hawaiian Beets

Ingredients

- 2 (16 ounce) cans whole beets, drained
- 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained (reserve juice)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon light molasses
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- 1 drain beets and pineapple separately; measure pineapple juice to make 1 cup (if needed add a little beet juice to make up any difference).
- 2 combine juice, cornstarch, molasses and salt in pan; stir until lumps are gone.
- 3 heat over medium heat until sauce thickens and is clear.
- 4 add beets and heat until hot.
- 5 just before serving, add pineapple; warm two or three minutes.
