Round Steak Cubes With Sauce

Ingredients

- 3 -4 lbs beef round steak
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons flour or 3 tablespoons rice flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar or 2 tablespoons sweet ten liquid low-calorie sweetener
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon grams
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons minced prepared garlic
- 3 -4 drops hot sauce, if desired see note at bottom
Recipe
- 1 in covered dutch oven add oil oil.
- 2 preheat oven to 325°f.
- 3 cut off fat from round steaks, discard.
- 4 cut in two inch long strips, then stack and cut in chunks.
- 5 put in dutch oven. brown on top of burner, medium heat, turning a few times to coat and cook.
- 6 note: split the sugar, between wet and dry ingredients.
- 7 in mixing bowl add flour, sugar, salt, pepper, gram , dry mustard, all spice and celery seed.mix.
- 8 in another mixing bowl, add liquid sugar substitute, tomato sauce, vinegar, garlic, and water. stir to blend.
- 9 add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring.
- 10 pour over browned meat.
- 11 cover and cook in the oven about 2 hours may be necessary to add 1/4 cup water every hour.
- 12 note: if you want to add hot sauce ie tabasco or other brand, add right before serving and stir.
