Round Steak Sauerbraten

Total Time: 1 hr 55 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless round steaks
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup onion, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons red vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 (1 1/4 ounce) envelope brown gravy mix
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 16 ounces hot cooked egg noodles

Recipe

  • 1 cut round steak into 1 inch cubes or into thin strips.
  • 2 in large skillet, brown beef in oil over medium-high heat.
  • 3 remove meat from skillet and set aside.
  • 4 in same skillet, add remaining ingredients except noodles.
  • 5 heat, stirring, until smooth.
  • 6 return meat to skillet.
  • 7 simmer 1 1/2 hours, or until meat is tender.
  • 8 serve over buttered egg noodles.
