Round Steak Sauerbraten

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 lbs boneless round steaks
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup onion, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons red vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 (1 1/4 ounce) envelope brown gravy mix
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 16 ounces hot cooked egg noodles
Recipe
- 1 cut round steak into 1 inch cubes or into thin strips.
- 2 in large skillet, brown beef in oil over medium-high heat.
- 3 remove meat from skillet and set aside.
- 4 in same skillet, add remaining ingredients except noodles.
- 5 heat, stirring, until smooth.
- 6 return meat to skillet.
- 7 simmer 1 1/2 hours, or until meat is tender.
- 8 serve over buttered egg noodles.
