Root Popcorn Balls

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 14 cups popped corn
  • 1 cup salted peanuts
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon root extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 combine popped corn and peanuts in a large buttered bowl.
  • 2 combine water, sugar, corn syrup, butter, root extract, and salt.
  • 3 cook and stir until it reaches 240 degrees on a candy thermometer.
  • 4 pour over popcorn mixture and stir until coated.
  • 5 let stand 10 minutes.
  • 6 with buttered hands, shape into 3" balls.
  • 7 wrap in cellophane.
