Roasted Vermicelli (sev)

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 3
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup almonds or 1/4 cup pistachios, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons currants
  • 4 tablespoons ghee
  • 300 g roasted vermicelli

Recipe

  • 1 heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan.
  • 2 crush the vermicelli in a tray.
  • 3 add it to the ghee.
  • 4 roast it lightly for 3 minutes.
  • 5 remove from heat.
  • 6 mix in currants, sugar, nuts, salt and water.
  • 7 cook on very low heat, covered tightly, for 5 minutes.
  • 8 serve hot.
