S.r.g Moist Chocolate Cake

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups sifted cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup sifted unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • frosting
  • 2 cups evaporated milk
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup sifted unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f line two 9-inch round pans.
  • 2 1. mix 1 1/3 cups water, 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder and vanilla. set aside.
  • 3 2. cream margarine and sugar until fluffy. add eggs one at a time until creamy. add the dry ingredients alternately with the cocoa mixture until well blended. pour in prepared pans and bake for 30 minutes or until done. let cool.
  • 4 filling: combine all ingredients in a double boiler and cook until thick.
  • 5 frosting: in a heavy bottom saucepan mix together all ingredients for the frosting except butter. cook until thick; stir in butter.
  • 6 to assemble: fill layers of cake with filling. ice decoratively with frosting.
