Helene D'esterhazy's Baked Vidalia Onions

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 4 medium vidalia onions
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 slice off the bottom and top of the onion, but do not peel.
  • 3 place in an oiled baking pan and brush them with oil.
  • 4 sprinkle with salt.
  • 5 cover with parchment paper and bake for 30 minutes.
  • 6 remove the paper and sprinkle each onion with balsamic vinegar.
  • 7 return to the oven for another 30 minutes.
  • 8 remove the outer peel of the onion and serve hot.
