Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (1/2 a stick)
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. add diced onions and garlic and cook until onions are translucent, 7-10 minutes.
  • 2 put in the grand beef and break into pieces with spoon or spatula. cook until browned and no longer pink.
  • 3 sprinkle in the flour and cook 2 or 3 minutes. whisk or stir in the worcestershire, beef broth, and milk slowly. bring to boil and reduce heat to medium.
  • 4 allow to simmer until desired thickness, 15 to 30 minutes depending on how thick you want it.
  • 5 taste for seasoning and add pepper and salt to suit your taste. serve over toast.
