Serviette/napkin, Chic Knot
Total Time: 2 mins
Preparation Time: 2 mins
Ingredients
- Servings: 2
- 1 paper, serviette (large)
- 1 cloth, serviette (large)
Recipe
- 1 lay your serviette out before you in a square shape.
- 2 take the bottom left and bottom right corners and fold them up to meet the top left and top right corners.you should have before you a rectangle with a crease at the bottom.
- 3 take the bottom left and bottom right corners and fold them halfway up the serviette, so that it meets the horizontal centre line in the middle if the rectangle.
- 4 bring the top let and right corners to the center as well, and now you should have before you a long thin rectangle with a horizontal gap running across it.
- 5 carefully fold this strip in half ( lengthwise) again, so that it it is now a very narrow strip.
- 6 place your finger slightly off center at the top of the strip and take the right edge of the strip with your other hand and fold it downwards so that a short centre line is created in the middle of the strip and the rest hangs down below.
- 7 now take the left edge and turn it backwards and down underneath itself so that the two ends are parallel at the bottom.
- 8 now take the left end again and twist it under itself again so that the loose flap points out in the opposite direction of the first flap. i found that a little loosening of the knot was necessary and a small amount of rearrangement needed so that both ends of the serviette were more or less the same length.
- 9 this produces a very chic knot, great for both formal and informal settings.
